about DJiO
![DJiO Sp z o.o. [Ltd] was a Warsaw-based architectural partnership, founded in 1993 in a result of a joint winning entry in a National architectural comeptition for the refurbishment of Świnoujście city centre by three Warsaw architects: Paweł Detko, Piotr Jurkiewicz and Michał Owadowicz. DJiO’s best-known work so far was a result of a First Prize in a national-wide architectural and urban-planning competition for the development concept of a new housing and multifunctional neighbourhood in Wilanów, southern borough of Warsaw, organized by SARP. The new distict, publicized as “Miasteczko Wilanów”, was conceived for ca. 200 hundred inhabitants, and has been since 2001, successfully developed under PROKOM and POLNORD S.A. leadership, with DJiO participation in planning process and subsequent development of living and commercial quarters at an area of ca.3 sq.km.

Paweł Detko has been an author and consultant to MURATOR magazine, the best known monthly journal dealing with individual housing; Piotr Jurkiewicz is a specialist in low-energy and ecological housing, certified by Passivhausinstitut Darmstadt; Michał Owadowicz, known for numerous winning architectural and urban-planning competition entries, had been a favourite lecturer of design for numerous young architects at a Warsaw Technical Universtity Architecture Department.](about_DJiO_files/shapeimage_5.png)
